Filmmaker James Benning re-imagining of the Unabomber's cabin library

This is a repurposing of a couple postings which first appeared in The Book Shopper blog in May, 2009. It came from filmmaker James Benning who reimagined The Unabomber’s Library. My older daughter Cynthia met Benning and I was given permission to post these photos.

This was by far the most visited posting on my site and other sites linked to it, which was something that happened more in those days. I am not sure whether the visitors were anarchists, conspirators, the curious, or potential bombmakers (too bad for them and good for everyone else) that Ted Kaczynski did not have How to Make a Bomb manuals in his collection. (This would have presented some ethical problems for me.)

This is not the real cabin but just a cleaned-up version, but Benning’s re-creation.

Included in the collection is a photo of a small shelf hung about eye-level and represents Kaczynski’s library of about 20 books. This is just a sampling of the books from the Unabomber’s library. You can see a more complete list here.
