Landscape Planning Books

At the Journeyman a bike and coffee shop in downtown Decatur (with a hangout vibe), Destination Books maintains a subset of our inventory (~50 books). Currently on display are three books that can give you some fresh ideas of what you can do with your yard in 2026.

The most notable offering is Brandy Hall’s The Complete Guide to Home Permaculture. In 2008, Hall founded Shades of Green Permaculture, a regenerative landscape design, build and education firm based in Atlanta. With a permaculture approach, the company transforms conventional landscapes into beneficial ecosystems that contribute to protecting biodiversity; growing food, medicine, and pollinator habitat; building soil, and restoring the water cycle.

This book provides both instruction and inspiration.
