My name is Murray Browne. Since my retirement six years ago, I have turned my attention to writing, bookselling, and publishing through Typepad –which went away September 30, 2025. I have since combined four websites —thebookshopper.org (writing), downandoutbound.com (publishing), destinationbooks.net (bookselling via popups and online – no brick and mortar store for me) and murray-browne.com (a composite of my writings and books) — into this site on the WordPress platform. This is an ongoing project.
The blog postings are basically into my musings on books and book culture, which occasionally includes my experiences as bookseller with Destination Books.

Fall Plant Sale
Saturday, September 12 from 9 a.m to 4:00 p.m. and Destination Books will have a pop-up on the front porch of the main building.

Destination Books Pop-up tentatively plans to be at the Freedom Farmer’s Market at the Carter Center on Saturday morning September 5th.
Workshop
On Saturday morning, October 10th I will be joining Auburn Avenue Research Librarian, Tamika Strong at the DeKalb History Center for a workshop on Discovering and Preserving Family History. Details here.
The Gravity’s Rainbow Support Group (GRSG) was founded during the 2020 pandemic by two college classmates who went to Indiana University during the 1970s. It began with reading the Pynchon classic and has continued since then expanding to other books.
